Industry Partner Capstone Project

January - May 2023

Product designer and engineer on a unique Capstone Project focused on the development of a gamified rewards system for Home Depot. This project involved utilizing Home Depot’s source data and building a working prototype application that allows the business to incentivize employees to improve customer service. Capstone teams met regularly with sponsor stakeholders through the entire discovery and build process, following an agile delivery process.

Queue Assistant

A Chrome and Edge extension, written in JavaScript with supporting Python scripts, that periodically pulls an analyst’s ServiceNow ticket queue, lets them set reminders and open tickets from the extension window, and sends digests and reminders to Slack through webhooks.

Dice Rolling Discord Bot in Go

January - February 2023

Lightweight bot running in a Docker container that parses commands in a Discord guild and returns a brief sentence detailing the results of a dice roll. Users can specify the number of sides on a die and the number of die to be rolled.

Technologies and Skills

Programming Languages & Software Tools

Go:

With Go, developed a number of single-page applications, HTTP services, and have studied how microservices and cloud services are written using the language. Current development projects are a Go-based tool to create, track and update goals, and the custom Go static site generator that powers this site.

Python:

Using Python, developed a number of simple scripts and programs to complete assignments and automate common workflows in everyday tasks. In order to streamline data entry, developed a script that copies text pulled from a PDF and can be configured to paste and submit it into a browser form. Python is also the language most used when solving algorithm problems.

Javascript:

Used the React and Vue frameworks in both personal and collegiate projects. Earlier versions of this site were written in React and then Vue. Comfortable with the Node.js framework when writing backends, having direct experience writing local databases using Node and PostgreSQL.
